Half-day or full-day culinary activities in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, and Melaka. Standalone bookings for individual travellers, or bolt-on modules for a wider itinerary.
Guided walking tours through specific neighbourhoods — 6 to 10 stops over 3 to 4 hours. We cover the places tourists do not find on their own: the stall that has been making the same dish for 40 years, the back-alley kuih vendor, the coffee shop where the roast master is on his third generation.
Available in: Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Melaka
Duration: 3–4 hours
Start at the market buying ingredients, then cook a full meal in a local kitchen. Dishes depend on the region: Nyonya laksa and kuih in Penang, rendang and sambal in KL, Portuguese-Eurasian debal curry in Melaka. Recipes included. We adapt for dietary needs.
Available in: Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Melaka
Duration: 4–5 hours
Guided visits to wholesale and wet markets before they close to the public. Pasar Borong Selayang in KL for the full sensory hit — whole tuna being broken down, jackfruit the size of a toddler, lime leaves by the sack. Guides explain ingredients, seasonality, and how specific dishes connect to what you see.
Available in: Kuala Lumpur, Penang
Duration: 2–3 hours
Deeper dives for clients who want something specific. Durian tasting at a farm. A night out at a hawker centre with a guide who knows which stalls to hit and in what order. A private Nyonya dinner in a family home. A Malaysian wine pairing with a sommelier. These are arranged on request.
Available in: All destinations
Duration: Varies
Individual day bookings are available, but most of our partners find that combining 2 or 3 day experiences into a 3-day itinerary creates a much stronger product for their clients. The meals build on each other, the guide gets to know the group, and the experience has a through-line rather than feeling like disconnected activities.
We can slot day experiences into existing itineraries you are already selling, or build a standalone food-focused programme from scratch.
